Welcome to June’s Updates
Hello Everyone!!
Oh my giddy ants! I blinked… and it’s July!
Hope your ready for the summer, because here it is! ☀️
June has been my most energised and productive month in business yet! So much going on. This newsletter will probably read like a newspaper to reflect it! Do keep reading as there’s some really good stuff to share with you atm!
Not least, tomorrow is my second business anniversary!
Thanks for sticking with me! I will be celebrating with my gorgeous girl and Ollie the collie!
More Connectiverse News!!
In my last edition I shared Connectiverse with you! A fab digital magazine that I am a columnist for. A great read!
Now there is even more! I went to the opening of their Manor Hub in early June; what a treat. Offering support to the local community in collaboration with Manor Beach Primary School. Partners include Blackpool and the Fylde College, Fleetwood Town Community Trust, the Volunteers Service and Evolution, who kindly donated materials and got the room in tip top condition to be used!
All captured by the fab Louise Humphries, who is pictured here, in a selfie rather than behind the camera!
Have a nosey! Whether to access services or make a contribution! Everyone welcome!
Expanding My Student Offer!
Those of you who follow me, will know of my background in Public Sector Social Work with Children, Young People and their Families
Since I made the step away, I have worked with the Students at the University of Lancashire (they’ve changed their name)! And it has warmed my soul!
Well I am delighted to share that I was invited to deliver a workshop at the University of Greater Manchester (formerly known as Bolton University – they’re all changing their names!). And what a treat it was. Sharing my experience with my own Strengths style is such a privilege. And the feedback (below) blew me away!
If you are working with Students or Young People and would like to explore whether I can bring any value, with my unique sometimes Tigger-like style, then please do not hesitate to get in touch!
Suicide First Aid Lite
This month I also had the opportunity to do Suicide First Aid Lite Training fully funded by Lancashire Mind. The word Lite certainly doesn’t refer to impact. More to the condensed nature of the offering. It’s all covered, super smartly and I left feeling so much more equipped to support others who might experience suicidal ideation
Also did you know that whilst Mind is the parent Charity for Lancashire Mind, their funding is completely independent. Lancashire Mind needs to do it’s own fundraising to continue to offer services including Suicide First Aid Lite. So if you’re in a position to fundraise, please do consider setting up a JustGiving link setting Lancashire Mind as the beneficiary
Please find more information about what Lancashire Mind Workplace Wellbeing Training in the link below
PROUD PRESTONIAN!!
At the risk of potentially turning some of you right off…. I could not, not include the fantastic news that Preston North End are now being sponsored by local entrepreneurs (celebs), the Spud Brothers!
I went to an event at Deepdale last Saturday, whereby the first 100 people to buy a North End shirt got free spuds. There was also a £1000 draw! And a local won!
Deepdale carpark was buzzing with excitement. Families came down. PNE Community and Education Trust were there. Deepdale Duck was taking penalties with the children. Local Close-Up Magician, James Rea, was entertaining the crowds. It was electric! Proper community vibe right on my doorstep!⚡
These young men ooze energy! It’s with this energy that they have built their business with grit and determination. Making their Dad, a lifelong North End fan, proud beyond words. Although do go to their Socials and you will hear from him!
They know how to communicate what they’re about. They haven’t been an overnight sensation. The bought the spuds business that has been on Preston Flag Market for decades, 4 years ago! Worked hard and are now scaling!
Soooo my challenge to you this month, is to get into your Spud Bros energy. Whatever it looks like for you. It doesn’t have to be how the Spud Bros show up or how I show up sometimes like Tigger on steroids! What does it look like for you!? Tap into it! Be bold and brave! Then own it! See how things change for you when you do this every day! ✨
And do let me know how you get on!
THAT’S IT FROM ME!!
I hope you’ve enjoyed this month’s round up!
Well done if you’ve got all the way through it!
